Angola’s Contidis Group partnered with our design teams to deliver the first of ten planned Candando hypermarkets, intended to be the country’s largest retail chain. The first, in the capital city Luanda is 100,000 sq ft and sources 90% of its vegetables and 40% of its fruit from domestic producers.
Our design needed to be a stimulating retail environment that aligned with local cultural expectations. We blended traditional and contemporary finishes, signage and communication tools to design a one-stop-shop that featured fresh produce, butcher, fishmonger, hot takeaway, homewares, children’s clothing and toys.
